INVOCATION OF THE
GODDESS HELLA
I invoke thee and call upon thee dark
mother of us all
Queen of Hel and the realms of the
nether moon
By seed and root
By bud and stem
By leaf and flower and fruit
By life and death do I invoke thee to descend
Upon the body of thy servant and
priestess here
Heilsa! To the mistress of Sleet-Den
Thou art Queen of Niflheim
Primal world beyond worlds
Mighty Giantess,
Bestow thine ancient powers of love and
death upon me
I adore thee to the end
And with loving sacrifice thy shrine
adorn
Descend upon your daughter, O great one
– I beseech thee
Aid me in these rites dedicated
To the power that moveth the universe

Of the mother darksome and divine
Mine the scourge and mine the kiss
The five point star of love and bliss
Here I charge you in this sign
I am that soundless boundless bitter sea
All tides are mine and answer unto me
Tides of the heavens, tides of earth
Eternal tides of death and birth
CHARGE OF HELLA
I am the Queen of the Nether Moon
The life-death-life mother of all
Ruler of the underworld and Lady of the
Wild Hunt
My hands garner the souls of the dead
They abide with me in peace and joy
In the life-death-life lands of primal
ice and fire
Yet am I the goddess of retribution and
revenge
Who consumest
all evil
I am sister to the ocean serpent
That encircles the universe
I am sister to the Fenris wolf
And daughter of primal chaos:
Loki – the catalyst divine
My embrace is the gate of death
My kiss is the cup of blood
My home is the hall of the dead
Men fear to look upon
me
And yet, the mysteries of the universe
Are written upon my face
Come unto me!
Have courage and faith!
Trust in me and pay me troth!
Succumb to my embrace!
Sacrifice thyself to me
And find that which is attained at the
end of desire
I am that water crystallised in the
blackness
I am that still and solid core that
abides in the darkness
Of the womb of the earth
The catacombs that are the cauldron of
the devouring mother
Where all things are transformed and all
opposites realized
In the shadows and the chill of the deep
realm
Even gold decays
All will perish, crumble and mould
In the
But ever mind –
Death, ruin and devastation
Compose the fertile earth from which all
life springs forth
Even as I am the Goddess of Death
So am I the source of all creation
I am thy Goddess now and always
I am the Mother of Death
I am the Mother of Life
